Buffalo

Buffalo originally started off as a band called 'Head', cutting their first single 'Hobo' b/w 'Sad Song (Then)' in 1971. After managerial advice that 'Head' was too controversial, due to sexual and drug connotations, they changed their name to 'Buffalo'. This heralded the start of a five album contract with Phonogram which lasted from 1972 to 1977. The original lineup recorded the first album 'Dead Forever' and consisted of Dave Tice (vocals), Alan Milano (vocals), John Baxter (guitar), Peter Wells (bass) and Paul Balbi (drums).

In 1973 Alan Milano left and Jimmy Economou joined on drums - this line up recorded the next two albums 'Volcanic Rock' and 'Only Want You For Your Body'. Original guitarist John Baxter left in 1975 - Karl Taylor and Norm Roue filled in for 'Mothers Choice'. The final album 'Average Rock 'n' Roller' featured Chris Turner on guitar and Ross Sims on bass. Peter Wells played on some of the tracks and was forming Rose Tattoo at that time.

Buffalo, one of Australias finest heavy rock bands, has a cult following to this day.
