Tice and Evans

DAVE TICE and MARK EVANS are two seasoned musicians who have evolved separately and together to form Australia’s premier hard edged acoustic duo. Their obvious talents are now very much in demand across the planet, including in the home of delta blues itself. Dave's powerful vocals and blues harp and the driving swampy guitar work emanating from Mark bring new life to R'n'B classics by Wilson Pickett and Sam Cooke, through to Louisiana influenced John Fogerty, Chuck Berry ‘Rock and Roll’ and Elvis Presley's ‘Mystery Train’. Their sets are also liberally laced with original cuts from their latest recordings.

"AUSTRALIA'S PREMIER BLUES DUO"  Andrew Williams, Drum Media Magazine.

"A VENERABLE BLUES SINGER AND A COWBOY PUNK BLAST THE BLUES"  Anthony 0'Grady, famed rock journalist and author.

MARK EVANS is the bass player from the original and classic AC/DC line up (featuring his best mate Bon Scott) that was nominated for induction to the American “Rock‘n’Roll Hall of Fame” in 2002. This period of the band yielded the landmark albums "High Voltage", "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", TNT", and "Let There Be Rock", including the massive and instantly recognizable worldwide hits "Jailbreak", "Baby Please Don't Go" and "It's A Long Way To The Top". Mark was based in London with AC/DC recording and touring extensively and his distinctive blues bass can be heard on some twenty million albums across the globe.

DAVE TICE'S musical history began in the early 70's as front man for legendary heavy rock pioneers `Buffalo', recording five albums in five years and enjoying chart success and huge critical acclaim while touring Australia extensively. Dave was seduced to return to his homeland, England, to join the famed "The Count Bishops", who were at the forefront of the British R'n'B revival. Driven by his distinctive vocals this seminal blues outfit recorded three albums and showcased their talents to sell out houses across Great Britain and Europe. Dave’s songwriting abilities were recognized by his contemporaries and he was coerced into co-writing album material for "Dr Feelgood" with their legendary guitarist Johnny Guitar.

In the mid 80's Dave and Mark formed "The Headhunters" with a host of highly accredited bluesmen, again attracting the attention of their contemporaries both locally and internationally. As a result Dave later to traveled to America to write with Dennis Walker, producer and songwriter for multi-platinum American blues man Robert Cray.
